The Friends of the Parks Embarks on Pollinator Garden Projects

The Friends of the Parks is beginning a partnership with Ramsey County Parks to maintain and improve  pollinator gardens. We plan to engage middle and high school-aged volunteers as an environmental service learning project and to foster pride in their community.

The first two gardens will be those at Battle Creek Regional Park near the picnic pavilion that were installed by Metro Blooms in 2023. These two gardens require some maintenance, weeding and supplemental planting. Our hope is that students will collect seeds this fall to plant into plugs next spring and transplanted in parks or at their school.

More information to come this fall about this initiative.
