Peggy Lynch had an undeniably large affect on parks and trails in St. Paul, Ramsey County and beyond. Tributes to her more than 30 years of work continue to roll in following her August 20, 2024 passing at the age of 90.
Most recently praised in the Sept. 12 edition of “My Villager” newspaper, reporter Jane McClure recalled Peggy’s “persuasion, persistence and passion” for the parks and trails. McClure also emphasized Peggy’s “ability to make a point without putting others down.”
An August 24, 2024 obituary in the Saint Paul Pioneer Press highlighted, among her many accomplishments, Peggy’s and the Friends of the Parks and Trails work that resulted in establishing park commissions in St. Paul and Ramsey County.
Peggy continued her support of the parks and trails to the final hours of her life by requesting the Friends to be named on her memorial. Donations in honor of Peggy may be made here.
