The Friends is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes the public support and appreciation of our parks and trails.
In 2024, Friends:
- created Peggy’s Grove (in partnership with Frogtown Green), a group of 14 trees and a bench overlooking an oak savannah in Frogtown Park. Peggy’s Grove honors long-time St. Paul parks advocate and former Friends’ executive director Peggy Lynch, who passed away in 2024.
- advocated for the renewal of the Minnesota Legacy Amendment that extended funding of state parks, trails and other natural areas through 2050.
- presented the Saint Paul Classic Bike Tour with more than 2,100 riders and volunteers.
- supported Friends of Pig’s Eye Park in its mission to improve the ecology of and accessibility to St. Paul’s largest park.
