On Thursday, November 16, thousands of Minnesotans donated record amounts of money, $34.2 million, to 6,615 of their favorite nonprofit organizations — ones whose values they support or that add meaning to their lives — through the annual Give to the Max Day initiative.
We are grateful for the 37 donors who added us to that list, putting us over our $3,000 goal.
Your generous donations to Friends of the Parks and Trails will support Peggy’s Grove, a tree-planting project in collaboration with Frogtown Green that will contribute tree canopy to a St. Paul neighborhood that risks becoming an urban heat island.
Our project honors our organization’s founder, Peggy Lynch, a vibrant woman — about to turn 90 — who has been working to establish park- and climate-friendly policies for more than 40 years.
Thank you for your contributions to Peggy’s vision and know that you still can donate to this project through our website. We, and she, and our neighbors in Frogtown, are most grateful for your support. Questions? Email amy@friendsoftheparks.org.
