Long Lake Regional Park, consisting of 217 acres, is located in the City of New Brighton in the northwestern part of Ramsey County. The park includes 1.5 miles of shoreline on Long Lake and a natural area around Rush Lake, a non-recreational lake. This natural area of the park includes cattail marshes, oak woods and a 9 acre restored prairie. There also are 3 miles of hiking/biking trails.
The park has three main activity areas. The beach area is open for swimming from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The full service beach building offers concessions, restrooms, changing rooms and showers. Adjacent to the beach is a picnic area for families and small groups.
The second main activity area is the large group picnic area. The area includes a large picnic pavilion designed to accommodate groups up to 300 people. The pavilion includes a kitchen and restrooms. The group picnic area also features a game field, volleyball court, hiking/biking trails and a handicapped accessible play area.
The third activity area is the boat launch area on the south end of Long Lake. The boat launch area provides a concrete ramp for launching boats, parking for l5 cars with boat-trailers, parking for shore fishing, restrooms and a fishing pier.
Three miles of paved paths for biking and walking connect all areas of the park from three entrances. Vehicular access to the park is from Old Highway 8, l/4 mile south of Highway 96. Access to the boat launch area is from Long Lake Road at Interstate 694.
