Mark a special occasion, remember a loved one, or simply add trees to our shared urban forest by giving a Tribute Tree to a park. We have donated over 7,500 trees to Twin Cities Metro area parks. (History and Accomplishments.)
Annual Tree Sale
We offer plants for your yard or balcony as well as the opportunity to donate trees to parks throughout the entire metropolitan area. The order deadline is April 19 and you’ll pick up your great stuff Saturday, May 4, 9:00am to 1:00pm at 2015 Van Dyke in Maplewood. For the first time ever, we’re offering a perennial in addition to our usual offerings of trees and shrubs. Native liatris, or blazing star as it’s commonly known, is a favorite of monarch butterflies and other pollinators so we’re adding it to our line up. Additionally, we’ll have blueberries, currants, plum, redbud, maple, elm, blue spruce, lilac, hydrangea, clematis, mock orange, and lots of other wonderful things.
Give a Tribute Tree Year Round
Donate a Tribute Tree to a park as a memorial or to commemorate an event. Celebrate an anniversary with a tree, give a tree for a birthday, a Valentine or other holiday. Give a commemorative tree for the birth of a child, or any noteworthy occasion, or as a memorial tree on behalf of a loved one.
You receive a letter acknowledging your donation and the person you are honoring receives a certificate and hand-written card. Staff of the local park system chooses tree species, park location and plants trees in the Spring after purchase. If you wish for the honoree to receive a map, showing the location of the tree, the Tribute Tree costs $400, instead of $150.
Tribute trees donated to the Minneapolis – St. Paul area parks often replace trees lost to disease and weather damage.
