Dear Council Member,
I believe that parks matter, for everyone. We need a Parkland Dedication ordinance that will provide land and resources for all citizens, regardless of what part of the city they live in.
The Parkland Dedication ordinance that went into effect October 3 isn’t working. I ask you to properly re-visit this document without just rushing through it.
Last time, the process took two years. The language in place is language the city proposed. How can we be sure there aren’t more problems if this is just rushed through without proper review and comment, including public involvement?
Please ask the Planning Commission and the Parks Commission to review the entire ordinance, not just the hastily-drafted language being proposed.
Please take the time to do this right.
