We are excited to announce that work has officially begun at Dickerman Park. The western half of the park is scheduled to be completed by Spring, 2018.
This more-than-a-century-old dream is finally becoming a reality. The land was dedicated to the City of St. Paul by the Dickerman Family in 1909. In 2004, the Dickerman Family gave Friends of the Parks and Trails an additional $45,000 to jump-start the process to transform this land into a park.
The advent of the Green Line, the associated redevelopment in the Fairview Station area, and the need for visible public green space along the corridor make Dickerman Park an incredible opportunity to create an authentic landmark gathering space reflective of the surrounding community. We encourage you to stop by the park the next time you’re on University Avenue. Its located on the north side of the street between Fairview Avenue and Wheeler Street.
