It’s that time of year when the whistle of crisp air begins to move through tree branches, the leaves start to turn color, the kids go back to school, and you sense it’s time for our Annual Fall Membership Drive. Indeed, it is.
A great way to acknowledge the importance of nature in our lives and the way it changes our perspective from hurried-and-frazzled to slightly-more-relaxed is to support a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote, protect, and enhance parks, trails, and open space. Playing, walking, biking, hiking, canoeing or driving through colorful tracts of fall foliage lowers blood pressure and mentally refreshes us.
We have been speaking on behalf of green spaces and promoting their inclusion in development plans for more than three decades. We absolutely cannot do this important work without you. We receive a couple small grants from foundations every year. If you or someone you know is looking for an excellent beneficiary of grant money to speak on behalf of the environment, please let us know.
Besides those couple small grants, we rely on membership donations to keep us viable. Without the support of donors like you, we could no longer exist. Development pressure continues to be exerted on park space and our voice is as important now as ever before.
Please join us in our effort to protect the green spaces in our midst and to build their protection into planning documents throughout St. Paul and Ramsey County. These are your parks and trails and it takes you to protect them for today and for future generations.

Thank you for standing with us as we stand up for parks, trails, and open space. Now go out there and see those beautiful fall colors, take some deep breaths, and enjoy all that nature has to offer.
